Julie Almeria has been singing since before she could speak. A proud graduate of the Denver School of the Arts, she could not be happier to finally be back home in Colorado after spending four years training, performing, and working (a lot!) in the Big Apple.
Julie spent her youth singing with the Rocky Mountain Children’s Choir while dancing competitively and studying Theater at DSA. She has since received numerous awards and honors, most notably a scholarship from the esteemed National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (winner in Theater, Arts Week 2007). She has also been singing with her pops, Tex Almeria, and the Denver-based LokoMotion band since before she can remember.
While living in New York City, Julie performed in many projects, including productions of “Miss Saigon”, “Elton John & Tim Rice’s Aida”, and the American premiere of “David”. She can also be seen in the upcoming independent film “Mr. Fixer” (mid-production).
Julie truly loves the funk out of music and is incredibly passionate about what she does. At the end of the day, she hopes that she can get you out of your seat and grooving, cuz the Godfather of Soul said it best, “The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing…”
